My records show nine of this model rod being built and this one is from 1997 coming from my shop in California. It remains in excellent + condition having been very carefully used. Bluing on butt cap, slide band and ferrules is 100% and the cane is straw colored, not flamed. Stripping guide is carboloy and the snakes are old stock tungsten steel. The cap & band reel-seat has a mortised butternut filler, an especially nice piece I got from Jim Schaaf. Wraps are the translucent olive usually reserved for hollow-built models, but this is a solid rod. I wish I had one of these myself; it is a very smooth casting rod for smaller streams and in three pieces will also transport for airline travel. I would recommend the purchase ($60) of an outer tube sock for this rod also as the tube has my old style plastic label that will easily rub off otherwise. This label is in perfect condition, however. With original bag & tube.
